5 Fun Facts about my Favorite Candy Treat

  1. Named after Mars + Murrie
From Mars Candy Co + Murrie- from Bruce Murrie son of Hershey’s Co President.
Did you know they used to be made with Hershey’s chocolate up to 1949 when Mars bought it all from Murrie for $1 million?

    2. Peanut M&M came out in 1954
    (My favorite!)

    3. The only color was TAN until 1960.
    There are 6 colors today!
Orange is the most resent and his character represents crunchy. Green is supposedly an aphrodisiac

    4. How many types exist? As of now 50 different types! Be careful jalapeño bags look a lot like crunchy mint! (anyone tried strawberried peanut butter yet? Save me some). Not every country is able to import all the flavors. (Lucky for me Mama Gail brings me out the goods every trip!)

    5. Why they are important to me?
My family is slightly obsessed with M&M’s
My siblings, grandparents, nieces, nephews, and even our dog has an M name… so we have slowly adopted them as our branded treat. Having them at every special event, holiday, and just feel good snack!
