Be better NOT the BEST

How we doing up there?

You want me to do what?

I have never taken a ‘ribbon’ yoga class. Truth be told I’m slightly afraid of heights. Just makes me a little nervous to be off the ground and not sure ‘where I’m going next?’ I know to trust the instructors. Just like I assist my students to stay in it and motivated.. I was lucky to have an amazing team at Air Fit Denver keeping me safe and laughing.

Super without the STAR

Don’t mind me.. I’m that student who gets there early. Sets up in FRONT and is ready to take on ANY challenge you give me! Until I met Aerial Yoga.. Honestly it’s the first time I had to slow down or take a pause in the workout. This is completely out of my comfort zone.. not just the moves but my inner voice saying you just can’t do this.. (yet). It’s always a reminder that health and wellness is about growing and learning and NOT just about being the BEST! The ego sometimes wants to beat out the logic. But dangling up in the air I knew better than to take a challenge I was not ready for (whether it was physical or mental).

But you were a dancer…

Ok let’s just say I wasn’t sooo graceful. Felt like a flailing flamengo. One leg wrapped.. one leg searching for where to go? In the swing.. and spinning in circles as the class looked like flying fairies. It’s all for fun, at least for my first time. Even with all the nerves and slight mishaps- going to class with my BFF Jackie was worth it! We always pick a new class or studio during our travels. We always look for a deal or first class free. But mostly we always have fun.

The staff and team at Air Fit Denver were super helpful. They were able to inspire the class to work at their own level- but also challenge us to push through! I really loved their space. The music, sunshine, and smiles... all good choices in my opinion for a fun class!
